Teaching Excellence Framework

Mont Rose College of Management and Sciences has achieved the TEF Silver Award. This award will be valid for two years until June 2021.

For the second year in a row Mont Rose College has achieved the Silver award based on assessment of six key criteria including teaching quality, academic support, student progression, employability and success. It was noted that the College consistently exceeds rigorous national quality requirements for UK higher education. The award will be valid until summer 2021.

The TEF results give our prospective students confidence that they will receive the best teaching quality, learning environment and excellent career prospects. As an educational institution, we do everything that is in our power to motivate, encourage and shape people’s lives for the better. Over the years we have worked with so many people and helped them to achieve what they believed was not achievable and succeed beyond their expectations! We will continue to work in this direction and accomplish even more.

Buckinghamshire New University accredits qualifications at Mont Rose College of Management and Sciences and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Interim) Professor John Brewer said it was ‘delighted’ with its success. He said: “We congratulate Mont Rose College on being awarded TEF Silver for a further two years and are proud to be partnered with them. This result is an endorsement of the quality of education the College provides.”

Below is the TEF outcome report, provided to the Mont Rose College of Management and Sciences:

“The TEF Panel reviewed the provider metrics and provider submission according to the process and criteria specified in the TEF guidance.

The provider metrics supplemented by the submission indicate that its students achieve excellent outcomes. In particular the Panel noted that levels of full-time student satisfaction with teaching on my course, assessment and feedback, and academic support are exceptionally high and above the provider’s benchmark. Rates for continuation and progression to employment or further study metrics are above the provider’s benchmark. Progression rates to highly skilled employment or further study are below the provider’s benchmark. The Panel deemed this was partially addressed in the submission.

The Panel considered the provider’s submission in relation to the TEF criteria and its judgement reflects, in particular, evidence of:

  • A wide range of student engagement opportunities that secure high levels of commitment to learning and study
  • An institutional culture that facilitates and recognises student involvement in new mechanisms for improving teaching and learning
  • Student engagement with developments from the forefront of scholarship and practice through involvement in the Mont Rose Journal of Academic Reviews
  • High quality motivational programmes that are highly valued by students and employers through the involvement of guest speakers from industry
  • A focus on high levels of stretch that ensures all students are significantly challenged through employability programmes and initiatives.

Overall, the TEF Panel judged that the combination of evidence in the provider metrics and the provider submission best fits the descriptor for a Silver award.”

Mont Rose College is very proud of its achievement and will continue working hard to provide high quality education and student experience and achieve our most ambitious goals!
