1. Accommodation manager
An accommodation manager’s entire role is making sure that their establishment is run efficiently. You must ensure that customers or residents are satisfied with their service through cleanliness and maintenance. Establishments to consider working in as an accommodation manager include care homes, hotels, halls of residence and NHS hospitals.
2. Event organiser
If you like the idea of events, an event organiser would be an ideal route to take should you choose to use your hospitality degree. You’ll need to be outgoing and love the idea of putting events together, from the early planning stages to the evaluation of an event. Types of events to consider for this role include conferences, weddings, parties, festivals and exhibitions.
3. Restaurant manager
If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, becoming a restaurant manager could be a suitable career choice. The main objectives of this role are maintaining the standards of the establishment by training staff, ensuring the restaurant is clean at all times and responding to customer complaints should they arise. A restaurant manager must be aware that the role is customer focused, therefore good communication skills would be required for a successfully run restaurant.
4. Retail manager
If you have ever worked in retail and feel you would like to progress in this particular industry, then using your degree to work in management may be an option for you. You could use your skills learnt within your hospitality degree to manage areas such as finance, marketing and also the logistics of sales. You will most likely be required to manage a team, lead team meetings, interview potential candidates and analyse sales.
