On 17th May 2022, Mont Rose College held its first Angel Competition since the start of the pandemic.
The competition aims to help students increase their business knowledge and put their ideas in action.
This year’s competition was held in their Mont Rose House campus and successfully met its goal of show-casing students’ entrepreneurship.
The judging panel consisted of: Mont Rose College principal, Mr Bilal Sheikh, Mont Rose College Business Programme Leader, Mr Desh Sharma, Flame Retail Managing Director, Mr Daniel Bastone and MLB Learning Solutions Director, Ms Brenda Drummond.
The competition saw students present their product in an exhibition stage and then present their business plan in front of the judging panel and MRC administrative staff and students. Judges then discussed their decision in a boardroom before an awards ceremony was held.
Audience members, the judging panel and the participants were then all treated to a tasty lunch!
3 students took part in the competition from different disciplines. Our 2 runners ups were Oluwatoyin Tijani, who is completing her level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, and Tassandra Folkes, currently on a HND Business course.
Irina Paduret, a HND Hospitality Management student, was crowned winner! Heartiest congratulations to Irina, who will receive a cash prize and a serviced office space. Mont Rose College will also provide continuous mentoring and guidance going forward.
All participants were shouted-out on social media and will continue to feature in Mont Rose College events, especially the tasty treats by the winning business idea, DesserdbyIrina!
The Employability Department is proud to have arranged a competitive and developmental 2021 – 2022 Angels’ Competition.
Mont Rose College will continue to offer students the opportunity to grow into a business-mindset that will surely assist them in their future endeavours.
